The Symposium of 2001 gathered 35 documentary filmmakers and theorists from 13 countries and a circle of their Latvian colleagues. During the Symposium professional filmmakers and experts from different countries could share their experience and exchange views on the further development and the aims of documentary cinema. The Symposium can be considered a bridge between the East and the West.
